# Waves & snapshots

The game is played in waves: short rounds, each about a week, each with
a hard end. Scores reset between waves. Every wave crowns a champion,
and losing one never puts you out of the game.

## The snapshot

Before a wave opens, the machine freezes a picture of who holds what.
That snapshot is the wave's entire reality.

* Tokens bought, split, or shuffled after the snapshot do not count.
* Eligibility comes from the snapshot roster of each community.
* Rosters are cleaned first. Exchange wallets, pools, and dust are
  stripped before anything is computed.

There is nothing to game after the freeze. Only people to mobilize.

## Arenas

Each wave runs on a specific chain: its communities are the ones on the
machine for that round. The first wave runs on Robinhood Chain. The
machine goes where the cults are.

## Seasons

Cult Royale is season 1. When a season ends, the machine loads a new
game. Waves are rounds inside a game; seasons are games inside the
machine.
